  • Synce works fine with Ubuntu 8, Ubuntu14 and Debian Wheezy. It is not easy to configure and does not have documentation. I only use it to establish communication, I don't use its existing features, they cover the basics. The new design, which makes use of D-Bus instead of HAL, has improved leaving aside the monolithic structure for a function-based one, but the direct call to dccm is missed, which is now via D-Bus. The support is practically non-existent, I have sent an email that has been waiting for weeks for the list administrator to authorize it because it exceeds the number of bytes. And it is that there has been no movement in the lists for years. In Debian 8, 9 and 10 the DEBs of Ubuntu 16 works!!, WinCE device connect (obtains IP), but disconnects after a few seconds. See my solution in unix.stackexchange.com, questions 732977, "lost-ppp-connection-between-debian-pda-handheld-using-synce/742499". In Debian 12 I'm trying to compile the sources.
  • Great package 'synce-hal' to connect PDA or Mobile Phone with WindowsCE to Linux. With Squeeze, Wheezy, Ubuntu-12 perfect !!!! With 'systemd' Jessie, Ubuntu-14, the package does not exist, I think there are compatibility issues with 'HAL'. If someone gets recompile, reminded of succes www.linuxquestions.org/questions/linux-software-2/connection-linux-pda-windowsce-4175560071/-------------------
